Tom Sharkey Jr. is the President of Meeker Sharkey & Hurley, a Cranford, New Jersey, based insurance and employee benefits firm serving business and personal clients since 2007.
After he received his education at Villanova University (BA in English) and New York University (MBA), Tom was president & chief executive office of Bank of America Corporate Insurance Agency (BACIA), the nation’s 29th largest insurance brokerage firm with over $80 million of revenues and 300 employees from 2000 – 2006. BACIA included an employee benefits brokerage and consulting operation that generated $40 million of revenue and a commercial insurance brokerage that earned $40 million of commissions and fees.
Tom is highly experienced in handling complex property and casualty insurance, risk management and alternate risk financing programs for private and publicly traded businesses. He has deep experience serving clients in the following industries:
- Internet technology;
- Telecommunications services;
- Commercial banks and other financial institutions;
- Construction companies;
- Non-profit organizations and Manufacturing and wholesales / distribution operations.
He is past Chairman of the Union County College Foundation and is on the Board of the Center for Hope Hospice.
